CCH Group announces the passing of chief executive, Gary Fee

Specialist and complex care provider, CCH Group, has announced the passing of its chief executive, Gary Fee, following a recent cancer diagnosis.
Fee was awarded the UK’s Most Influential Leader in Social Care title in recognition of his contribution to the sector, having led one of the most-significant chapters in the organisation’s history.
At its core, his leadership was people focused and he embedded a people-first culture and elevated the standing of care professionals nationally.
He also established the CCH Extraordinary Care Awards, the largest recognition scheme in the care sector, to celebrate excellence at scale.
But his impact extended well beyond CCH.
He was clear that social care is essential national infrastructure, fundamental to how the country functions and how the NHS performs.
And he pushed the sector to lead with solutions, moving from advocacy to applied innovation.
Under his leadership, CCH expanded its reach to support more people in their homes and communities, ensuring that scale translated into greater access to care where it was needed most.
Even in the final weeks of his life, he remained focused on the direction of the organisation and the future of the sector, continuing to test ideas, review progress, and shape decisions.
Just days before his passing, he wrote to colleagues: “We have the solutions the country is searching for.
“It is our responsibility to step forward with confidence and ensure they are seen, understood, and delivered.
“I know that each of you is the strength of CCH and it is through you, and our sector, that we will rise.
“Please know that I am with you and I believe in you.”
Kris Lee, acting chief executive, said of his passing: “Gary brought clarity and direction to an organisation of national scale. He unified CCH behind a people-first model, strengthened operational discipline, and positioned the organisation as a leading voice in shaping the future of care.
“He reshaped how we operate and how we understand our responsibility as a national provider.
“That shift will endure. His leadership leaves a lasting mark on CCH and on the wider sector.
“We will continue the work he began and carry that responsibility forward in honour of Gary. We intend to meet the standard he set.”
