Bramacare has opened a transitional supported-living environment for adults recovering from complex eating disorders in Ipswich.

A bridge between specialist care and independent living, the facility has been designed for people who have made significant progress in their recovery from eating disorders and would still benefit from continued therapeutic and dietetic support before returning home or moving into fully independent accommodation.

The facility comprises five self-contained transitional living flats, each with its own kitchen, bathroom and bedroom.

The Princes Street facility expands Bramacare’s care pathway in Ipswich beyond its existing service at The White House.

Laetitia Beaujard-Ramoo, chief executive at Bramacare, said: “For many people, the move back into ordinary life is one of the most important and challenging stages of their recovery. Princes Street has been created to provide a safe, supportive bridge between intensive care at the White House and full independence. Residents have their own space and the freedom to rebuild everyday routines, while knowing that specialist therapeutic and dietetic support remains close by.

“We want every person who moves on from Bramacare to do so with the skills, self-belief and support network to live independently and sustain their recovery.”
