Inspire Neurocare, a specialist provider of neurological rehabilitation and long-term care, has announced the appointment of Joy Chamberlain as chair, strengthening its leadership as the organisation continues to develop and expand its specialist care pathways.
Chamberlain brings extensive senior leadership experience from across the health and social care sector.
Most recently, she led Elysium Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest providers of specialist mental health, neurological, and learning disability services, where she played a pivotal role in shaping strategy, driving quality, and supporting sustained growth across a diverse national portfolio.
Across her career, she has built a strong reputation for values-led leadership, operational excellence, and a clear focus on delivering high-quality outcomes for people with complex needs.
As chair of Inspire Neurocare, she will work closely with the executive team and board to support the organisation’s strategic direction, governance, and long-term growth, with a continued emphasis on specialist complex care as a vital part of the wider specialist care landscape.
She said: “I am really looking forward to working with the team at Inspire Neurocare.
“Making a genuine difference to people’s lives, alongside dedicated, skilled, and compassionate teams, is what makes this sector so special.
“I have been impressed by the quality of the environments Inspire Neurocare has developed and by the important role that community-facing complex and neurological care plays within specialist provision.
“I am looking forward to working closely with the team as Inspire Neurocare continues to grow and develop their services.”
Chris Walsh, chief executive, added: “Joy brings a wealth of experience from across the specialist care sector, along with a deep understanding of what it takes to build high-quality, sustainable services.
“Her expertise, insight, and shared values will be an enormous asset to the organisation and I very much look forward to working with her as we continue to grow our specialist pathways and deliver outstanding care.”
