Compliance tool supports UK home care providers

Home care software provider, CareLineLive, now comes with data and compliance tool, MOA Benchmarking, bringing inspection readiness and benchmarking directly into its system for homecare providers.

The quality data and compliance specialist was acquired last year by Accel-KKR, which also holds a majority share in CareLineLive, but now its technology is available to CareLineLive users as part of their subscription.

CareLineLive already provides an all-in-one product for home care companies managing staff rotas, client visits, care planning, ensuring safety and providing visibility for families.

The upcoming MOA integration will help providers using CareLineLive keep their records up to date and show regulators such as the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) they are meeting the required standards.

CareLineLive founder, Josh Hough, said: “My vision for the care sector has always been to make it more efficient through better use of data and technology.

“When I met the MOA team a few years ago, it was obvious we saw the world the same way.

“The sector needs good tech and it deserves good tech. But it also needs support. You cannot just drop software systems into care and expect managers to figure them out.

“Compliance is also complex and so adding this new layer to our offering is a game changer.”

The system enables providers to complete digital self assessments, benchmark performance, and build improvement plans tied to CQC and CIW standards, all from within their care management platform.

And Hough believes that gives providers a practical edge.

“As far as we know, we are the only home care software provider including this level of benchmarking and compliance support within the subscription,” he said.

David Sanders, formerly chief operating officer at MOA Benchmarking, has moved to a new role as general manager for Europe across both CareLineLive and MOA as sister organisations under the A-KKR Umbrella.

He said the aim is to take the sting out of regulation.

“Inspection frameworks can feel overwhelming,” he added.

“Many care providers find it difficult to interpret CQC regulations, but we’ve got a team of experts including PhD-qualified academics, clinicians, and managers from the social care, quality and compliance sectors.

The care sector is undergoing a lot of changes and dealing with tight budgets, so providing this extra layer definitely feels like a good thing to do for customers

“They boiled down the basics and so now users can ensure they are compliant through a simple platform.

“CQC ratings are so important to care companies as it’s one of the main ways they are assessed and clearly has a big impact on the bottom line.

“CareLineLive and MOA have been working together for years and our cultures align.”

Hough says the combined platform will continue to be backed by training and hands-on customer support.

“Customer care remains incredibly important,” he said.
